Google is making this simple and straight forward,their Algorithm keep on changing and changing.This affects millions of sites,every time their Algorithm changes.Google is more concerned about the frequently updating blogs,site because their motive is to provide users fresh and updated content,why not when the users demands it.Suppose you are searching for a recent event,you would be happy when you get the info of when the event will take place this year and not the info of how it was,the previous year.

So recently there was a bit of changes in the Google’s Algorithm.This all happened well for this blog,a month ago suddenly the traffic dropped by 40-50% and now all is well and the blog regained its traffic.But this new Algorithm seems not to be well for Wikipedia.

We have seen a lot of drop in the ranking of Wikipedia(en.wikipedia.org),search for any brand name,fruit name,place,object and Wikipedia was at the top of the search results pages,but now the story is not same,for most of the searches the wikipedia pages ranks dumb.(Read-More posts from category Google,Wikipedia )

For example:we searched for yamaha i.e Japanese multinational company and we got no wikipedia result on the front page instead it was on the second page.

Oh no dear Wikipedia.

More bad news for Wikipedia:Many of the Wikipedia pages now doesn’t ranks i.e no Google Page rank for them.We use a Google chrome extension for the Google PR count and we noticed a lot of Wikipedia pages without any rank.We did checked those page for Page rank on some Page rank checker websites and got the same results.

Google allows users to remove Wikipedia results if they don’t like seeing Wikipedia results in the search result pages.

More over these days users might have noticed Jimmy Wales’s personal appeal of making a donation to Wikipedia.Well Wikipedia is a wonderful place and one of the best place to get knowledge from and that too without any damn advertisements.
