The free Windows 8 download demonstrates a huge range of changes that will have a huge impact on computing. How it Operates

 The changes to how the new system operates have to be understood before many of the other major changes can be properly understood. Another huge operational benefit of this change is that the same platform will be compatible across everything from phones to desktops. Basically, if Microsoft makes it, then the next version will be a Windows 8 version.

How it Looks

 How it looks relates to the above simplification. The underlying aspects of its looks are that of Metro UI. This system is the tabulated system that was introduced to the Windows phone and it relies on Apps rather than on large, highly demanding pieces of software. By using smaller Apps loading times will decrease, processing requirements will decrease, and ultimately the system will become more user and mobile friendly.

How it Works

 How Windows 8 works will be the biggest change that has happened to computers in general since Apple introduced the iPhone. SkyDrive takes the world of cloud computing to a whole new level, and the result is something entirely different from anything that has been seen before. SkyDrive can be considered as an online integration rather than as cloud computing as we know it.

The basic principle of SkyDrive as a longitudinal system is that it will host and hold everything. Everything in this case refers to software, images, games, videos and whatever else you have on your devices at present. When I say ‘hold and host’, this means that your device will not have these systems and items stored on it at all; it will merely be a hub through which you can access your computer. Your computer in this sense will be a virtual entity which is stored externally and which can be accessed from anywhere that you choose to log in.

The benefits of this system are simply vast. The cross-platform system discussed above will mean that SkyDrive can be accessed from practically everything. This will make everything from your brother’s phone to your boss’ Xbox capable of turning into your desktop computer through the simple process of logging in to SkyDrive.

The biggest limitation on this system is that of data transfer but this will soon be overcome. As it stands, the Windows 8 beta version and the final release will open the door for the proper utilisation of cloud computing. The next step is for people to trust cloud computing with their data and surrender their information so that more can be achieved with smaller and less technologically complex mobile devices.

Businesses thinking of migrating data to the cloud, face choices. Those choices include which applications and elements of the infrastructure to place in the cloud, what vendors to select and, increasingly, whether to put their data in the public or private cloud.

Both platforms have advantages and disadvantages. Users must consider which works best for them or, when possible, select a best of both worlds in a hybrid solution.

Public Cloud

The public cloud is available to anyone who uses the Internet. Users access storage or an application from servers shared by multiple users. It can be a free services — often with limited capabilities — or a pay-for-usage model that allows for more benefits, such as a higher storage capacity.

Public clouds are wonderful for companies that need to scale up and down capacity very quickly, or ‘burst’, for times of increased demand (think holiday shopping seasons) at a reasonable price, said Preston Futrell, CEO with Reflex Systems, which performs virtualization management for their clients. But, in the public cloud customers don’t have complete control over their environment, and these clouds can be subject to a higher likelihood of security attacks, given their high profile.

Private Cloud

The private cloud is operated solely for one organization. Users access dedicated applications or storage capacity reserved for them. It is either managed or hosted interally or through a third-party vendor, but the biggest difference between it and the public cloud is the control the organization has over the cloud servers and the security of separate servers.

For businesses that require scalability but need to retain control of their data for security or privacy or other competitive reasons, private clouds provide a good alternative, Futrell said. “While they require more internal set up, with the right management solution, they can be as scalable as a public cloud, but with additional security and other controls sometimes not within the control of a customer on a public cloud.”

Hybrid Cloud

A hybrid cloud is a composition of both private and public cloud infrastructure bound together by a standardized platform that enables data portability. You can have the flexibility of the public cloud with the security and manageability of the private cloud deployments.

There are many instances when a company should consider the hybrid, According to Sejun Ra of NFLabs, which develops applications and services for cloud platforms, “It can be from just a simple example of managing capacity to a more complex software development/deployment scenario,” he said. “For example, a cloud would be ideal in creating a development environment shared with an outsourcing company.”

“By leveraging a public cloud, you maintain a shared and controlled development environment for your outsourcing resources, while leveraging a private cloud to integrate all the components together,” he said. “This way, you have consistency and control of outsourced development components while maintaining privacy of the full product set, which translates to better quality and faster time to market.”

Legal, operations and economics

The type of cloud you will use will be largely dependent on your company size and focus.

“Data security and compliance issues vary across industries and geographies which make some cloud formats more attractive than others, said Bils. “Larger companies are also likely to have greater challenges with integrating new cloud architectures and formats into their legacy environments, and may also have different performance and technical requirements.”

Businesses need to understand both their business and technical requirements when choosing a cloud format or delivery model, Bils added.

“For example from a business perspective, organizations need to understand any potential data security or compliance implications of migrating to third-party services as well as issues cost, integration and access,” he said. “From a technical perspective they need to understand their requirements around service availability, performance and latency. Businesses need evaluate different vendors as well as formats, as significant differences can exist across service providers.”

While migrating to the cloud is increasingly attractive to organizations, the decision should not be made quickly. Moving to the cloud involves the consideration of legal, operational and economic issues dependencies and consequences.

Understanding the “why”

“The first question companies rarely ask in any sourcing exercise is ‘What are our objectives?’” said John Nicholson, an attorney with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, regularly negotiates cloud services agreements for clients. ”Understanding why you want to do something goes a long way towards helping you decide what to do and to balance the pros and cons of the possible solutions.”

“Going to the cloud covers a lot of territory,” he added. “There’s the private/hybrid/public question, but there’s also the level of the stack that you want to outsource – infrastructure, platform, applications. The higher up the functionality stack you go, the more likely it is that some underlying functionality is also being provided via the cloud for your selected service provider.”

Deciding which cloud format is the best one for your company will be a decision unique to your needs. No two solutions will be the same. That’s why it is so important to have a clear vision of why you’d like to move to cloud services, and what you expect to get out of migration.

“As with any new technology cloud is not a panacea,” said Bils, “but it certainly can provide dramatic improvements in flexibility and efficiency for businesses that know how to leverage these new models.”

Update 29 March 2012-Due to death of one students from Beant Singh college of Engineering and technology,Gurdaspur,Punjab,the entire Gurdaspur District is being Curfewed.Protest against policemen was the reason,policemen fired a shoot and one student got hit.It was all between Sikh community and Shiv Sena workers.

Bhai Balwant Singh Rajaona was one of the assassins responsible for the murder of Former Chief Minster of Punjab Beant Singh(February 19, 1922 – August 31, 1995).Beant Singh was a congress man and was responsible for the murder of Innocent 50,000 Sikh people from the state of Punjab,India.He was a corrupt leader and was responsible for innocent killing and terrorism.

On 31st of August 1995 he was assassinated by Human bombing in front of secretariat complex in Chandigarh.Beant singh was killed along with 17 others(Security officials).So watch the following video to know more about him,his crime and why he is going to be hanged in Patiala Jail,Punjab,India.
